From a shy kid to a shining star
Courtney Bruce remembers when her parents signed her up to play netball as a child to help her “overcome her shyness”. A plan that developed her confidence on and off the court and as one of the world’s most formidable netball players. Debuting in the national league with Fever in 2013, Courtney is the longest-serving captain in the clubs’ history, adding to her list of accolades.
In the 2008 Commonwealth Games, Courtney was part of the silver medal-winning Australian squad. In 2018 Courtney was selected for the Australian Diamonds squad and recently, in the 2022 Commonwealth Games, added a gold medal win to her resume. Regarding her success, Courtney says “I really do believe you play your best netball when you’re having fun and enjoying yourself.”
