Bourby Webster’s Inspiring Story
The Orchestra that breaks the rules.
Bourby Webster is the Founder and CEO of Perth Symphony Orchestra. In her early days she grew up in the UK surrounded by music and relished busking with friends to earn pocket money at the local train station. Attending Oxford University, she found herself immersed in the prestigious culture and loved every minute of it. Bourby went on to become a founding member of Bond, where she played Viola in the electric string quartet before finding the spotlight too much. She relocated to Perth where she eventually started North Street Music, and there after Perth Symphony Orchestra. Bourby has a true passion for classical music but delivering it differently, she wants to change people’s perspective of a symphony orchestra and modernise the industry.
