Tree Planting at our Memorial Groves
Growing stronger every year.
On Saturday 30th July 2022, Bowra & O’Dea staff, Trillion Trees Australia, Brownes Dairy, Perspektiv, and community volunteers – approximately 100 people- planted close to 4,500 native trees and understory at Reg Bond Reserve in Viveash.
Before we set off for the day, we were reminded our work contributes to planting the future for our children and the generations to come. Teams were each given a selection of plants, tools and a planting demonstration. The rain accompanied us throughout the morning, providing premium conditions to give our seedlings their best chance to thrive and grow.
At around 10:30 am we downed tools to enjoy some conversation and a delicious morning tea. We were treated by The Country Women’s Association and Brownes Dairy to delicious homemade muffins, slices, fruit, yoghurts, flavoured milk and hot drinks – the honey joys were the star of the morning according to younger volunteers!
With full bellies, we finished the final hour of planting with renewed enthusiasm and the sun briefly broke through so we could admire our accomplishment. We were ushered home to our warm showers and lunches with a mighty downpour, but that did not dampen our excitement to do it all again next year!
Thank you to Trillion Trees Australia for another successful Memorial Grove tree planting. Want to know more about our Memorial Groves? Find out here.
