Troy Scudd’s Inspiring Story

The Gift of Life.

Father of three and triathlon enthusiast Troy Scudds was diagnosed with liver disease and faced a long battle waiting for a life-saving organ transplant. Now Troy reflects back nearly 7 years on from his successful transplant and recalls the day he got the call for a second chance at life. While Troy’s family were hopeful for a successful transplant, he recalls it being a bittersweet moment, as he knew another family were dealing with the loss of a loved one. 12 months after his surgery he decided to write to his donor’s family, to share his sincere gratitude for this life saving procedure. Troy has since been involved in a project called Donor Mate, it’s designed to bring awareness to a younger demographic on how to become an organ donor.
