WA Local Hero.
A Wadjuk woman of many talents, Professor Cheryl Kickett- Tucker was recently awarded WA’s Local Hero for 2019, which shows true to the work she has done with youth in her community. Since starting Kaat Koort and Hoops in 2015 it has seen 580 kids come through the program learning basketball, improving their social, physical and emotional well-being. As well as being a published author and the Founding Director of Pindi a centre for research excellence in Aboriginal Well-being, she is a role model and inspiration to young people in her community and beyond.
