Fleur McDonald’s Inspiring Story
Voice of the Outback.
Fleur McDonald was born into a family of storytellers, today she is one of Australia’s leading rural literature authors. Fleur draws inspiration from having lived and worked for much of her life on a farm – including early life on her parent’s property in regional SA, and more recently on her 8000 acre property in regional WA. She often gets asked by family, friends or even locals in town, if she has based a character in her book off them and while this is usually untrue, Fleur admits some characters are a mixture of multiple people. Selling over 650,000 copies of her books, Fleur is one of the country’s favourite storytellers.
